Wheel alignment is an important part of your ongoing preventative maintenance. We suggest having your alignment checked at least every 10,000 miles or as soon as you notice any changes in steering or fuel efficiency. An inspection is fast and easy and can be done during your next oil change or tire service. The longer you put off an inspection and repair, the more damage is done, so don’t wait—walk-ins are always welcome in our Dallas, TX auto repair shop. We service all makes and models, new, used, and tried and true family vehicles.
How Do You Know If Your Alignment Is Off?
You don’t need to be mechanically inclined to tell your alignment is off. Sometimes, the changes are gradual, and car accidents aren’t the only cause. Everyday occurrences, such as driving over potholes, hitting a curb, or driving on bumpy roads can throw off your alignment. Your steering is connected to your alignment, so if you notice any changes to your steering, then you should stop by our shop as soon as possible. For example, if your wheel is not centered when you are driving in a straight line or if you notice it takes more time or muscle to steer left or right, it’s time for an inspection. Again, these changes can happen very gradually, so you must pay close attention. While there are many things that can lead to uneven wear on your tire tread, one may be that your alignment is off. It is always a good idea to inspect your tires visually. This can alert you to damage, bubbles, low tread, or uneven wear and tear. A perfect time to inspect your tires is when handwashing your car or while waiting as your gas pumps. As always, if you notice a change in any area of performance, it is better to have an inspection and diagnostics run sooner than later. This helps to catch problems without delay, which almost always results in lower repair costs.
